Golf Gives Back and the Dormie Group, CenterPoint Energy Foundation, and Welborn Baptist Foundation to Make Important Announcement to Benefit the 4C of Southern Indiana
Evansville, IN – A news conference will be held at 10:00am, Monday, March 8th at Victoria National Golf Club located at 2000 Victoria National Blvd., Newburgh, Indiana. The news conference will be set up to accommodate social distancing.
An announcement will be made regarding a donation for resources to support programming for 60 at risk children. The donation is funded by the United Leasing & Finance presents the Korn Ferry TOUR Championship and the Dormie Network, owners of Victoria National Golf Club. The donation is being matched by the Welborn Foundation. On hand at the news conference will be Jack Pate, Chairman, Golf Gives Back, Inc., Ron Romain, CEO, United Companies, Aleisha Sheridan, CEO, 4C of Southern Indiana., Richard Leger, VP Regional Operations, CenterPoint Energy, Amanda Schmitt CenterPoint Foundation President, and Patrick Jackson, Early Learning Program Officer, Welborn Baptist Foundation.
In 2018 Golf Gives Back awarded a $50,000 grant to Easterseals for their Milestones Early Childcare and Education program and the “Golf Gives Back” Arts Studio. In 2019 Golf Gives Back presented another $50,000 grant to Community One and the Tepe Park Neighborhood Association for resources and renovations to the Tepe Park Clubhouse. In 2020 a $25,000 grant was given to the Boys & Girls Club of Evansville to support a new bullying prevention program.
It was announced that a $200,000 grant will be given to the 4C of Southern Indiana in 2021. Golf Gives Back contributed $25,000, the Dormie Network $25,000, the CenterPoint Foundation $50,000, and the Welborn Foundation matched all three grants and donated $100,000.
4C is a nonprofit serving 28 counties in Southern Indiana. More than forty years ago, 4C started out as a true grassroots organization with a few local childcare directors and preschool teachers meeting to network and share information about childcare. 4C was incorporated in 1969. In the late 1990s, research about brain development in children identified issues around childcare as national priorities. 4C hired its first paid employees and the organization began to grow.
The 2021United Leasing & Finance presents the Korn Ferry TOUR Championship will take place August 30 through September 5 at Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh, Indiana. The previous nine United Leasing & Finance Championships and United Leasing & Finance presents Korn Ferry TOUR Championship have generated over $1.8 million in donations to local charities.
